What is a saw and what is it used for?
A saw is a tool for cutting wood. It generally consists of a toothed blade with a handle and is operated by applying an alternating push and pull movement.
Free-blade saws are generally called those with a single handle at one end of the blade (such as the jigsaw, the hacksaw, the hacksaw), while saws with a blade inserted and tensioned by a frame are called stretched-blade saws (frame saw, trentina saw, bow saw).
