What is the lug drill and how did it work?

The lug drill is, as the name suggests, a type of hand drill for making holes of different sizes depending on the tip used. It consists of an iron rod that has a ā€œCā€-shaped handle halfway along its length and is equipped with two wooden knobs that allow it to be gripped and turned on. One knob is placed at the upper end, while the other is located in the handle. On the lower end of the iron there is a screw chuck for inserting the tips (called arrowheads). The drill is turned on by placing the tip on the surface on which you want to make the hole, gripping the upper end and applying pressure towards the tip, and finally imparting a rotary motion to the handle located in the handle.
