What is wool?
Wool is a textile fiber produced from the fleece of some animals that have continuously growing hair and must therefore be sheared (mainly sheep, rams and goats, but also camels, alpacas and rabbits). Wool is made up of keratin, a protein also found in our nails and hair. Wool is different from hair: it is thinner and does not have the medulla, or central portion that makes up the hair.
