The therapeutic magnet is a magnet that is made to be swallowed by cattle with the help of a special instrument (lance) and that is deposited in the rumen where it remains for their entire life. The magnet attracts foreign bodies containing ferrous parts (nails, wire, etc.) sometimes swallowed by cows, which otherwise, due to digestive movements, could injure or perforate the stomach walls, causing the death of the animal.
