What is nectar and how is it collected by bees?
Nectar is a sugary liquid secreted by flowers that bees collect and process by means of enzymes, transforming it into honey. To collect it, bees (foragings) land on the flower, move the anthers (pollen sacs) to access the nectar sac (nectaroconch) and suck the portion of nectar that the flower makes available, depositing it in the honey stomach (or crop, part of the bee's intestine) to be able to transport it to the hive.
