What is a hive and what is it made of?

The hive is an artificial dwelling (generally with movable combs) specifically built in beekeeping to house and raise a colony of bees. A group of hives makes up an apiary.
The hive is made up of several modular elements stacked on top of each other. The first element, starting from the bottom, is the nest, where all the bees live and where the brood is placed and raised. At the base there are small openings that allow the passage of the bees, but prevent the penetration of predators.
The nest is surmounted by the shallow box (or supers) which is added during the harvest period for the storage of honey. Both contain movable combs and are separated from each other by the queen excluder (a net that prevents the queen from passing from the nest to the shallow box). The crown board is placed above, which in turn is protected by a lid.
