What is ploughing and what is it for?
Plowing is an agricultural operation that consists of lifting, turning over and breaking up clods of soil with a plow. It serves to prepare the soil for sowing, bury seeds, incorporate fertilizers, eliminate unwanted weeds and promote water absorption and plant nutritional processes. Plowing occurs at specific times based on the type of agricultural work required. In spring and summer, plowing is performed before sowing, in autumn, in preparation for spring sowing, to prevent excessive soil compaction.
