What is a spade and what is it used for?
The spade is an agricultural tool used to prepare the soil for crops. It consists of a flat blade, which can be triangular in shape for compact soils or trapezoidal for softer soils, and a sturdy handle with a grip. Often a short transverse rod called a stirrup is inserted into the handle, which is pressed with the foot to make the blade penetrate the soil. The spade allows you to turn and break up the soil to a depth of 15-20 cm.
