What is weeding?
Weeding is an agricultural operation that consists of superficially working the soil to a depth of 3-4 cm, using tools such as a hoe, a hoe or a mechanical weeder. This practice serves to break up the soil, activate the respiration of the roots of the plants, improve irrigation and destroy weeds. In the past, weeding was done manually, especially by women, after the initial germination of the plants. This operation, useful for improving the yield of the crop, is particularly advantageous in arid climates and on sandy soils, both for herbaceous and woody crops, such as vines, olive trees and fruit trees.
