What is the warping machine and what was its use?
The warping machine is a tool that allowed the preparation of the warp, which was then mounted on the beam of the loom. There were various types of warping machines, but basically they all had pegs placed at a distance appropriate to the length of warp that was to be obtained, around which the threads were passed and stretched, which were then joined in groups or bundles of threads (portate) suitable for the fabric that was to be created.
